The University of Tartu was represented at the virtual fair of the French University Pôle Léonard de Vinci

On November 6, the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Tartu participated in the virtual university fair De Vinci Study Abroad Fair.  The aim was to introduce Pôle Léonard de Vinci University students to study opportunities all over the world. The fair was held entirely online this year, creating an interactive environment for the participants.

171 universities around the world were represented at this year's fair. The focus was on technology, economics, and science curricula.

At the fair, the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics introduced a new short program "Fundamentals of Mathematics and Statistics with Applications in Actuarial and Financial Engineering". The further training program lasts one semester and takes place in the Delta Center in Tartu. Master's students with research interests in mathematics and statistics are invited to participate. The student who has passed the semester will have an overview of different areas and applications of mathematics. In addition, one has obtained fundamental knowledge of probability theory, statistics, and knows simpler stochastic models. During the program, the learned theory is also applied in the field of actuarial and financial engineering. Read more about the program here

The University of Tartu Mathematics and Statistics Virtual Fair Booth was visited by 148 students, and those who were interested could also ask for further information from MSI representatives at the fair.
