Students invited to Delta Career Day

On Thursday, 2 March at 11, Delta Career Day is once again held in the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club, bringing together students and the most reputable Estonian companies in the field of computer science, mathematics, statistics and economics.

The Career Day is held for the fifth time. It gives students the opportunity to meet 53 organisations and find an internship or learn about career opportunities. There will be talks with the companies’ representatives in the Career Day studio throughout the day. It is possible to view the interviews on Worksup and get additional information on all the participating organisations there.

Head of the Institute of Computer Science Heisi Kurig explained that Delta Career Day is a meeting place for young talents and companies who offer jobs. “It gives an opportunity for companies to introduce themselves to young people who will soon enter the labour market, and find new colleagues among them. On the other hand, students can network with enterprises whose goals and worldview are the most suitable for them,” Kurig said.

More than fifty students are expected to gather at the Academic Sports Club to meet the employers face-to-face and plan their future. “I look forward to meeting the companies and finding out about internship and job offers. At the same time, I can broaden my network for the future,” said Kenneth Robin Kask, a second-year student at the School of Economics and Business Administration.

Rainer Talvik, a first-year student in Mathematics, said he was going to Delta Career Day to find an internship place and get inspiration. “I would like to know what aspects of myself I should develop to become more attractive to companies in the labour market,” he said.

Organisers of the Career Day are the University of Tartu Institute of Computer Science, School of Economics and Business Administration, and Institute of Mathematics and Statistics. For more information, visit the Delta Centre website.
