On Saturday, November 15, the traditional mathematics competition for students will take place. The competition will begin at 12:00 p.m. in room 1020 of the Delta Center and will last five hours. The competition consists of five university-level mathematics problems, each of which is graded on a scale from zero to twenty. The problems can be solved in Estonian, English, or Russian.

A similar competition will also be held in March 2026. Based on the results of the two competitions, four people will be selected to represent the University of Tartu at the long-standing international mathematics competition "International Mathematics Competition for University Students" (IMC) to be held in Bulgaria in the summer of 2026. The competition is intended for students who are up to 23 years old (inclusive) and are completing their first to fourth year of university. Participation fees and transportation costs will be covered by the University of Tartu and the Estonian Mathematical Society (including accommodation and meals).

Information about student mathematics competitions held at the University of Tartu (including materials from previous competitions) can be found here, and information about the IMC can be found here.

No pre-registration is required for the competition. Just show up and put yourself to the test!
