Michele Mazzucco is currently a Senior Research Fellow in the Software Engineering Group at the University of Tartu (Estonia) and a Researcher at the Software Technology and Applications Competence Center. Prior to that, he was a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Cyprus, where he conducted research on "green" computing in the context of large-scale data centers. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a research associate at Newcastle University (UK), where he focused on revenue optimization problems in the context of commercial data centers.

Dr. Mazzucco studied Computer Science at the University of Bologna (Italy) (MSc, 2005), and Newcastle University (UK) (PhD, 2009, advisor Prof. Isi Mitrani).

His research interests include autonomic techniques for large-scale systems, distributed systems and middleware architectures, performance engineering, green computing and economic aspects of Cloud Computing. Outside of research, his main interests are sport, music, and books.
